I finally found the time to take my camera out to play. My mid-sem break has just started.. although we’re only given a week.. IM DEFINITELY GOING TO BASK IN THE MOMENT. hehe. Anyway, a friend told me that the secret to good photos is to take them either before sunrise..or sun dusk. These i took just before maghrib. huhu.What do u think?

this alley way behind my apartment brings back alot of memories. there used to be a teeny weeny karaoke place.. that we used to go to unwind every other weekend. Dont know what happened to it.. the graffitti is still there but clearly now its just a ’small opening’ in the wall..errr..concentrated with restaurant deposits. hahaha. This place used to be attached to a Japanese Restaurant just on the other side of the building.

They even had a collection of Rhoma Irama songs. hahaha. Yea thats why we used to go there alot..to groove to rhoma irama hahaha. But yeah the collection of songs were fantastic. I remember that one time ashraff decided to sing along to the Thai songs on their play list in the manner of a chinese opera lady! hahahaha. we laughed so hard..we almost peed in our pants.

BUSY.

It has been a hell of a week. Ive finally been able to produced an essay to hand in yesterday. But i’m still a far-suicidal-cry from a holiday. Monday’s the worst! I’ve got two presentations on Monday. One in the morning and one at night on two totally different topics. I know, good effing luck to me right? So yeah, i guess this explains why i haven’t been blogging at all. Plus, my Nikon’s  been collecting dust on my studying table. I havent even had the chance to charge its battery…its not JUST sitting on my desk collecting dust..but its SITTING ON MY DESK COLLECTING DUST AND DOESNT EVEN TURN ON.

Initially, i wanted to take the camera out to the Melbourne Showground this evening. I dont think i can now, I’ve just got to much work.

I am officially S to the i-c-k. Thank god my lecturer approved my request for an assignment extension at the last minute. I really didn’t think it’d get any worse and was initially confident that i was able to hand in my work in class by 6pm today. Unfortunately for me, as the day got colder, my arms got a whole lot more sakit..more like ngilu.  I gave up writing the assignment  and decided to send my lecturer an email:-

Dear Teacher,

I sorry i cannot hand in assignment today. My arms are in so much pain that they may as well be literally cut off from its joints. For this, i is very sorry. I thinking if i can submitting next time.

in which she replied(within matters of seconds even!)

Siti,

I sorry to hear about your pain. I give u until  Friday to give I your assignment.

blesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss her soul! So i pushed what was left of my essay, text books and notes i had aside, and turned the couch in to a bedroom and slept like a baby. I really can’t remember the last time i was this sick. It’s horrible. exspecially when its that time of the semester where you can’t afford to be sick!!! I have an essay (which is now due on friday) and two presentations to prepare for MONDAY. how crazy is that? I have another paper due the following Tuesday.

So tell me. how exactly can i reduce stress?????? this sux.Going back to bed in a few minutes, my nose is starting to itch like its nobody’s business. Unless runny noses could be stopped with  pegs, I’ll be sleeping with a box of tissues next to me tonight

Ive just finished what was left of yesterday’s 1/2 chicken combo from Nandos. I’m not fasting today as i’m down with the shingles. A week ago, i felt sharp sensations going through my right arm all the way to my shoulder. It hurts even more when i expose it to the wind, i.e when i’m out side i’d be biting my lip hard to keep me from SCREAMING. At first i thought, oh. maybe they’re period pains. and then i thought eh? sudah jua ku period? and then i thought.. ‘ooh..salah tidur kali ni’. And dismissed it as just that – salah tidur.

A week later, when the pain had not subside, i noticed a belt of rashes (mcm gigit nyamuk) forming on my upper back, that hurt when i touched it. AND WAS LIKE OH SHIT.. is it what i think it is? made an appointment to the doctors, and she confirmed that it was shingles. mcm shit. pdntah sakit.

Shingles for those who dont know.. is a type of viral infection that u get from chicken pox. apparently, those who’ve had chicken pox before are prone to shingles, because even if you’ve had chicken pox, the virus that causes it stays in our system (sampai mati). Stress and fatigue triggers the virus to form shingles. It attacks the nerves first and then you get the rashes. This kinda explains why my arms and shoulders hurt.

so anyway, doctor prescribed me with an anti-viral medicine that had cost me a whooping $230.skali doctor atu ya suruh aku kurang kurang stress..mcm hello? stress?ure the one causing me so much stress. huhu. $230 for medicine? thats kinda like me paying $230 for STRESS IN A BOX. baik jua i have insurance.

but no. in all seriousness i have to reduce my stress levels. stress is not good. stress lowers your immune system.. like to the max. Hence, when your immune system is lowered, you are prone to all sorts of illness. like shingles. which sucks. i know this is a photo blog, which is why i’m going to post a photo of my shingles shortly.

huhuhu. ew. no. i just felt like rambling. i miss blogging. Hmm. just maybe part of being stressed is linked to the fact that i dont blog anymore. Maybe without realizing it, blogging (previously at sasmonroe) was sort of therapeutic for me. hmm..

anyway, just for the sake of it..

Its Spring but the weather’s being a jerk.  Seriously, there should just be SNOW. At least then..my icy fingers and numb nostrils would be justified.

Cafes still have these portable heaters out. It’s probably going to be around until the next heatwave. That is if the weather man decides if we’re going to have any! Everytime i see one of these, i imagine what it would be like to use it as a cigarette lighter. Especially during those stressful moments where you can’t seem to find one and everyone that walks pass by you  just happen  (for some ironic reason) to be a non smoker. heh

I know i haven’t been posting much. 3 words: ASS IGN MENTS.

I took HC3’s advice on my Opera House photo (baru ku teliat!). HC3 pointed out that the shadows dominated the ‘details’ on the right. looking at it again; I AGREE. Taking his advice on board, I opened up photoshop and did some minor adjustments..

Watermarking

A cousin of mine raised a very good question the other day.

me: kalau kana curi, bawa saja org atu kelayi.

Pekelahian jua eh. hahahaha. But seriously, i can’t be bothered. Siapa jua kan mencuri? Siapa berani ah? (eseh).

First day of puasa today. It was ok, i had class the whole day so i really didn’t feel like i was starving. YEA RIGHT. Lapar kali ah. Tuhan saja tau betapa lapar nya daku. hahaha. I had class from 12pm to 1.45, another class from 2pm to 5pm and another one from 6pm to 9pm. Breaking fast was at 5:59PM today.. after convincing myself that it was alright for me to be a little late for class I ran down to Uzu and broke fast with a hot bowl of Unagi don. Yes, Gracia, Jagjit was actually COOL with it!! Initially, i wanted to tapau sushi rolls to have in class..but no way i was going to do that!!! i like to have my meals properly. My tummy just won’t settle for tapau-ed sushi.

mm..yeah i know this because..my tummy talks? hahaha.

anyway. the wholeeeeeeeeee day in class, i was imagining how this would taste like in my mouth

Its deep friend mars bars i TAPAU-ED from my trip to Sydney the other day. I brought back some uncooked ones and fried them myself in olive oil. Honestly, it tasted better than the ones they sell, fried at the store. I have two left. Maybe ill have one at the end of the week, and the other one ..erm..at the end of the week hehe.

Lightroomed.

A friend (strongly) suggested to me Adobe Lightroom to process my photos. I finally got the chance to download the software at school (only because the internet at home is too slow and we’re almost reaching our monthly bandwith limit) So here i am in a lecture, playing with the newly found software WHILST (not) listening to the Guest Speaker talk preach something along the lines of international business and governance..
